Universal Tour 2017

Hello, people of the internet! Contrary to appearances, no, I have not (ever) forgotten about this blog. I went to Universal Studios yesterday (and will be going again tomorrow)....so here's some pictures (click to enlarge):

And so it begins.

All aboard!

The Hogsmeade snow was actually appropriate this time (I last went in the summer).

~Hoggy Woggy Hogwarts~

There were these neat succulent balls hanging around the park...I want one!

A bird's-eye-view!

YOU LIKE ROBOTS? WE'VE GOT ROBOTS!

The Transformers 360 ride was actually very good/made use of the technology.

A timely arrival.
Man, Universal has some weird dogs roaming around (haha).

Entering Kong.

Exiting Kong.

Fake Mexico!

Fake Old West!

Panic! at the Subway

Something seems fishy in this town....
...very fishy.
(and also fire-y)

I wonder what this chap's up to.

Answer: MURDER.

Ahh, suburbia.

Apparently, the price of this plane was cheaper than its moving expenses.

Gotta go fast!

Where every single Universal water scene is filmed.

GUESS WHO I SAW!!!!!!!!!!

Waterworld! ...Which is apparently a movie that i've never heard of or seen.

Action packed.
Hahahahahaha!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Action...and fire.

Did I mention the fire?

So much fire. More like Fireworld, am I right?
GUESS WHO (AGAIN) REMIX

Feliz Navidad!

Universal....At Night.

.....Aaaaand, scene!

10-21-15

Today is a momentous occasion in human history: today is the day Marty McFly goes to the future! (which also happens to be the day after my 20th birthday)

While some Back to the Future predictions HAVE come true, human technology is not quite as advanced as the makers of the movie had hoped it would become.

Where's my rehydrated-pizza, science?!

....My only regret is that I neglected to pack my BTTF t-shirt when I visited home last weekend so I could wear it today at my college.

Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing what will happen in the uncharted time beyond the events of Back to the Future

In the wise words of Doc Brown:

"Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!"

Time

When you live your life
Waiting for the next weekend
Life passes too fast

Another day, another wrinkle

I look into the mirror
Another day, another wrinkle

My brow furrows as I stare
When was it that I started to care

About the lines in my forehead
About the veins on my hands
About the yellowing of my eyes
About the loss of sight from them
About the aches and pains all over

My bodily grievances line up, one by one
Don't go out, don't get too much sun
They say sunlight ages you faster
And so, of darkness I am the master

Before I know it, more time has passed
It never used to become night this fast
The night turns to day, nature's cycle continued
And so, my fears of yesterday's aging renewed

As I sit alone in my unlit room
Weaving myself a futile cocoon
I think about my life, but eighteen years
Hardly close to the final frontier
Yet I still fear the whitening of my hair
And wonder when it was that I started to care

They say madness is born from repetition
Expecting a new outcome is an inane position

Still, I look into the mirror
Another day, another wrinkle

What is going on tonight??

Bagpipes are playing
"OOZMA KAPPA" someone yells
Such is college life

Caution

Be careful, my friend
For I fear your ice is thinning

Our friendship is warm,
But this distance burns
And scalds all it touches

Beware, my friend
For I cannot be there to catch you
Should your ice melt beneath your feet

My lake is placid, with few cracks to speak of
While yours is marred by spider webbed fissures
The tales you spin, filled with hapless misadventures,
Chip away at the edges of my frozen tarn

Be wary, my friend
Of those who tread not lightly upon your ice
The figure skaters
The bandy players
The curling fans

But so long as winter's frost persists
Know this, my friend

That should you ever slip
Upon your fractured lake
My mind and ears are open
And but a phone call away

Fall is coming

Did you ever stop to wonder why
Everything has to die?

Standing by the sink
Or lying in your bed
You take a moment to think
When the thought reaches your head

The evergreen trees sway
The green boughs will stay

But every cell
With every blink
With every sigh
With every wink
With every cry

In the very end,
Everything will die

They said breathing underwater was impossible
And this facsimile of life is infallible
But through the continuous waves of pain
With not a thing to gain

the world
             Keeps
                       On
                            Spinning

A hand on your shoulder
A friend
A sister
A mother
A father
The soul of the dog who was lost
When the nearby mountains were still topped with frost

A gentle touch
(Though it seems not much)
Pulls you from this repose in thought
And assures you that though the time will arrive
When you are but a cosmic astronaut

If you take a breath and dive
And rise from beneath the darkness blue

You'll soon find that spring was always waiting for you
